I’ve been trying out various ideas for S.E.T.I. live performances and the latest one is the KOMA Elektronik BD-101 IR sensor controlling Error Instruments Passive Operator (‘Insane Drum Synthesizer’ in small print). The audio goes out of the BD-101 into the Novation Circuit Mono Station for filtering and to accompany the Mono Station’s drone sequence.
Happy to report that S.E.T.I. will play live (hardware set) on 9th March 2024, with some great acts. The first S.E.T.I. live performance since November 2019 at the Wroclaw Industrial Music Festival.
S.E.T.I. will not be performing at the below due to personal reasons. EX-ORDER will fill the slot on the evening.
Dear Tomorrow People, today you can obtain the latest files from S.E.T.I.’s journey into the Beyond. Please note this has been recorded in ‘Very Stereo’ and contains frequencies which you’ll not only hear but can feel, if you play on the correct equipment. I hope you enjoy the experience.
Feel free to download the 24 bit audio (click the three dots next to the player) and image for your own playback system.
This was created with multiple stems of audio, each from a different mini synth, such as the Bugbrand Postcard Weevil, Mute Synth 1 etc. The stems were looped and arranged so that they played back in random order as each one finished. They were then fed into a series of repeaters, delays, modulators, filters and gates in order to create a semi-generative piece. The repeaters and gates were adjusted in realtime to try to disturb the flow.
