On June 5th there will be two new releases – S.E.T.I.’s ‘The Sphere of Density’ CD on the Polish Zoharum label and Lagowski’s ‘Offshore’ collection via Bandcamp.
‘Sphere of Density’ is a double CD – one studio set and one live at the XVIII WROCŁAW INDUSTRIAL FESTIVAL.
About ‘Offshore’
The photo was taken in Yokohama, Japan as we were descending on the escalator. It often occurs to me that it’s possible to make music even when you’re not sitting in your home ‘studio’, whatever that may be comprised of.
Many of the tracks on ‘Offshore’ were recorded using a 5th generation iPad in AUM. Some then had overdubs in Ableton Live 9 (DAW) with Reason 10 synths. A couple were made on the Novation Circuit, with added Reason 10 synths.

This collection (the second in my occasional drone series) features a Bumblebee, a Shamisen, a Nebulophone and a lot of layering. The photo is of the Moon from our garden, on a long exposure. It moved across the sky while nobody was looking.
I recommend playing this back on good headphones or on a music system with good bass.

Here you can see the layout of my live gear for my gig organised by Sleepers, at Ohm in Berlin, in November 2019. The Tascam is a digital recorder, used to capture the live set from the mixer outputs. The feint lines are audio signals. The others are MIDI or sync signals.
Beats came mostly from the Novation Circuit, which is two synths and four (drum/sound) sample locations in a sequenced box, and Korg ES-1 (sampling drum machine).
The iPad supplied various samples and noises programmed at the same BPM as the main beats.
The Eoten B is a handmade noise box by Orgeldream that can take inputs or generate a racket by itself.
‘Fla’ is a Boss BF3 flanger pedal and the Zoom is a CDR-70 multi effects pedal that provides the wonderfully smooth reverb.
The Volca Kick and Bass did a couple of tracks synched to each other but they didn’t perform well in the club and lost sync at times – not sure if they overheated or got moody. Either way, I sold them once I’d returned home.
The Circuit held its own really well in the club and I was pleased with how far I’d got programming it, having only bought it two weeks before the gig. Looking forward to hooking up a Circuit Mono Station synth to it in the next week or two.

I’ve uploaded the video of me performing at Wroclaw Industrial Festival, which was recorded by Yukari (moshcam) and Jean-Yves Millet for the balcony camera. The sound is taken from my on-stage mixer for clarity. The full recording will be available on CD in 2020.
