Coming soon…

March 23, 2024

Thank you to those who have supported my recent releases on Bandcamp. Although I couldn’t make it to Berlin for the 33YLOKI celebrations, I’ve been working hard here at Studio FWD on forthcoming material. I’m trying my best to keep the sounds fresh and not go over old ground. Fans of S.E.T.I. may be surprised by the next set of recordings 🙂

S.E.T.I. ‘Beyond East Gate’ Promo 2

New configurations?

January 15, 2024

In a move away from computer generated music and software synthesizers in general, I have adopted some new methods, or perhaps more accurately returned to methods I used back in the early 1980’s.

Live processing of tape based source recordings, CV control of the Passive Operator and much left to chance, as opposed to pre-programming.

I’m looking forward to many happy and unrepeatable accidents in sound.

Koma Elektronik BD-101 IR sensor controls Error Instruments Passive Operator via Mono Station

December 30, 2023

I’ve been trying out various ideas for S.E.T.I. live performances and the latest one is the KOMA Elektronik BD-101 IR sensor controlling Error Instruments Passive Operator (‘Insane Drum Synthesizer’ in small print). The audio goes out of the BD-101 into the Novation Circuit Mono Station for filtering and to accompany the Mono Station’s drone sequence.
