July 18, 2023I will continue to use AI generated images and text as foundations for my projects. Can they be considered ‘ready-mades’ by the art world? How did the art world react to the Dadaists’ ready-mades? Who cares? I believe part of the artistic process is in knowing what prompts to use to get the results you’re after. The same as programming a synth sound or manipulating a sample. The image or text are generated by the synthetic organism, based on my selection of certain criteria (the prompt) and I go ahead and manipulate them further to produce the desired effect. Or trash them and start again.
