Lagowski – ‘Daemons of the Western World’

September 24, 2016

I have put some new Lagowski tracks and remixes up on Bandcamp. All proceeds from the sale of this music will go towards the treatment of Ania Mehring, the wife of Maciej Mehring, founder of the Zoharum label. She has been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

S.E.T.I. ‘Station’ now on Bandcamp

November 22, 2012

After a query from a certain ‘Gaston Grimsdyke’, I decided to search out all of the tracks I created in 2001 as muzak for the ISS (International Space Station). They are now available as a digital album, to be played loud and enjoyed for the experimental beasts that they are.

Legion, Lagowski and S.E.T.I. updates all in one

April 22, 2012

Thought I’d better update you on what’s going on at Camp Lagowski. On 22nd May 2012, there will be a Lagowski techno performance at Superdeluxe club in Roppongi, Tokyo, with Sunao Inami and others. On 28th May 2012, my dark ambient project ‘Legion’ will have its final performance at the Wave Gotik Treffen Festival in Leipzig. You can get more regular updates by visiting the ‘Andrew Lagowski Presents Legion’ page at Facebook, which is accessible via the Links page. Both shows will have new DVD material presented. Later this year (in October or November) I will be doing a S.E.T.I. performance in a church in Wuppertal, as presented by Martin of Phelios fame. Really looking forward to that one 🙂

Also later this year, hopefully in September, Legion’s debut album ‘False Dawn’ celebrates its 20th anniversary re-release as a double CD with remixes and hard to find Legion tracks. All of the remixes have been done and mastering is due to take place in Poland in June.

This year, we are also due to see the re-pressing of Nagamatzu’s ‘Sacred Islands of the Mad’ vinyl LP on Dark Entries records, thanks to the fantastic response by fans of dark shoegazing neo wave, whatever you want to call it.

Finally, a very exciting album project is underway with some great musician friends of mine. At the moment, this is top secret, but the sound is very deep and powerful and I think you’ll be blown away by the tracks when this project sees the light of day. We’ve been exchanging tracks via FTP and reworking each other’s sounds until we’re happy that the perfect dark hybrid has surfaced.

S.E.T.I. live set list and video update

May 8, 2010

The DVD of visuals for the Wave Gotik Treffen gig on 24th May has been finalised in After Effects and iDVD. The set list, to be played using Reason and Ableton Live will be Knowledge, Sylana Idio Sua, Steppe, Mare Crisium and Journey. The older tracks have been re-arranged using the original samples and MIDI files, but updated with a deeper sound. ‘Steppe’, a track from the next S.E.T.I. album, contains old Russian UFO witness testimony!

‘Steppe’ and future S.E.T.I. recordings

September 6, 2009

I’ve been neglecting this site somewhat, posting quite a bit of download release info, but never really engaging the visitor – I apologise! Newest material I’m working on includes a S.E.T.I. track called ‘Steppe’, after a story my sister sent me. As we all know, the Russians have a long history of UFO sightings, well now it appears that they have UFO’s under the sea too! A very worthwhile subject for my investigation. The track is approximately 8 minutes long, with haunting sounds aplenty, and some great Ableton-mashed up Reaktor sequences.

There will be more tracks like this to come, and once I have a big enough collection, I shall be looking for a label to release them into the wild.

For those interested in the technical nature of my S.E.T.I. work, this particular material uses Ableton Live as a sound production and mixing environment, with other sounds being supplied by Reaktor, Reason, iPod Touch running Jasuto and Plogue Bidule.
