Mixdaddy Lags

March 13, 2023

Two remixes I did. One for Karl Bartos’ White Cube Gallery, entitled ‘Esperanto (FBI Mix)’ and the other just for fun, entitled ‘Class Hacked’ by Toni Able/Joi de Cocteau.

While you were sleeping…

April 6, 2013

It seems that I’ve been busier than I realised lately. The first of the projects was two remixes for Maciek Szymczuk for his ‘Cloud Watching’ release. More info to be found here. I have also done two remixes for Attrition which are available for a limited time as detailed here.

As part of a relatively small campaign to publicise the Legion ‘False Dawn’ 20th Anniversary edition, there is an interview published in the Polish ‘Hard Art’ magazine which will soon be available from Zoharum at this link.

While we’re on the Legion tip, my re-release of Legion’s ‘Leviathan’ is now available for a very reasonable fee from my Bandcamp page here. The download-only release includes three previously unreleased/new tracks, photographs and a MIDI file from the original session for you to play with.

The re-issue of Nagamatzu’s ‘Igniting the Corpse’ album on vinyl as a very limited run, will soon see the light of day. It will have very special hand screen-printed works by Stephen Jarvis (VII Sins) for the first bunch of lucky customers. More details here and on the soon-to-be-open Motorcade website when they are available.

I have also begun work on the next S.E.T.I. projects too. One will be vinyl only entitled ‘Final Trajectory’, one will be a CD for LOKI and the other will be a 24+ hour live stream. I have also been asked to do something for Touch Radio, which I will endeavour to accomplish in the next couple of months. Large dish arrays of the UK – watch out for the S.E.T.I. mobile studio to arrive on your doorstep momentarily!

Finally, my collaborative project with a secret partner will also soon see the light/dark of day. We’ve been ‘hard at it’, as they say, over the last year – sending samples, files and mixes over the internet and producing something truly deep and cinematic. You’re going to love it 😉

Live songwriting tonight on Rise & Shine

New location, new setup

December 22, 2007

We moved house in August and are still sorting through many things but my music and sound system is beginning to settle down. The end-of-2007 setup includes: Logic 8, Metasynth 4 Pro, Ableton Live 6, gleetchlab 2.3, Reason 4, ixiQuarks and various plug-ins and editors. My newest sound projects include a remix/mashup of Karl Bartos’ ‘Esperanto’ album tracks for his forthcoming virtual exhibition, and new Lagowski and S.E.T.I. tracks. Hoping to digitise some very old Nagamatzu cassettes and VHS video for the new year….should be fun! In the meantime, Mrs Lags and I will be enjoying the new TGV box set and CARTERTUTTI album 🙂

‘Red Sector A’ remixes

March 29, 2007

I’ve just completed two remixes for Red Sector A (a.k.a. Andrea Bellucci)’s next album, using Ableton Live 6. He’s very happy with them – you can check out RSA’s info here.

S.E.T.I. ‘Eleven’ album

September 11, 2005

Originally a French project called ‘Twelvomatic’ which involved 12 different artists (Scanner, S.E.T.I., Merzbow, Illusion of Safety, Asmus Tietchens, John Duncan etc). Each artist gave one minute of sounds to a sound bank/library, which we then mixed into a 60 minute album each. My album was going to be the first in the series but the originating label went down in 2003/4. Details & files here
